Kalahandi, YNN (Rajat Bansal): The 25th anniversary of Kalahandi Shiksha Vikash Parishad was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Pragati Institutions. The event saw the participation of Kalahandi Lok Sabha MP Malvika Devi and Lanjigarh MLA Pradeep Dishari as chief guests. Other notable attendees included Prof. Gopabandhu Behera, President of Kalahandi Shiksha Vikash Parishad, Executive President Jagannath Mund, Secretary Krishnabatar Deo, and Secretary of Pragati Institutions Er. Ajay Kumar Panda.
The celebration commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the esteemed guests, followed by a welcome music performance by the students of Pragati Institutions. Acting President Mr. Mund extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while Chinmay Kumar Guru, Rajni Behera, and Punyadeepa Khamari contributed significantly to the programme.
Secretary Krishnabatar Deo presented the editorial details, highlighting the Parishad’s dedication to the district’s development in various sectors such as health, agriculture, industry, trade, and transportation over the past 25 years. Chief of Pragati Institutions, Er. Ajay Kumar Panda, delivered the welcome speech, emphasising the institution’s role in Kalahandi’s progress.
Prof. Behera, President of the Parishad, urged the honourable MP to establish an agricultural university, sports college, and planetarium in the district to further its development. Additionally, the students of Pragati Institutions submitted a memorandum to the MP, requesting the organisation of government recruitment and entrance exams within the district to benefit local candidates.
Er. Panda also highlighted the importance of education and health services, advocating for the prioritisation of B.Sc. Nursing and Para-Medical fields. The event concluded with the felicitation of newly elected MPs and MLAs of Kalahandi district, followed by a vote of thanks from Bhagirathi Bhoi.
